Nicholas Ashton George Foundation was created February 28, 2014. Licensed 501c3 in the state of Michigan. It was created in honor and memory of my son, Nicholas Ashton George. Nickybear fought a brain tumor from the delicate age of 8 months old. His joy and smile brought Hope to so many families. My son's imprint on the world is the effortless love that gives me to have all the energy I pour into our community.
Nickybear left us to be home with the Lord March 9, 2018. He is never forgotten by the simple acts of kindness we do in honor of his short time here with us.
My primary goal in the first few years was to help families that endured pediatric cancer and support them with their children. The Ependyparents Group grew reached the entire globe. Diagnosed May 22, 2010 and I was asked to moderate a group of his subtype, anaplastic ependymoma with only a group of support of 153 families. Since that time, the group grew to over 4000 families. There are over 120 subtypes of brain tumors. My support reached every group and provides support to every subtype still today. I passed the torch with the group to leaders that are knowledgeable and still provide support today. My mission was completed and God changed my path.
In 2018, I chose to shift our vision and it has became a network of churches, food pantries, foster care and helping find temporary housing and connecting them to help and support to the people in our community all we can. Working with 9 local churches and disbursing the needs of any family that needs assistance. 4 Food pantries and we work with the foster care systems and assist multiple organizations.
I will be forever grateful that God chose me to be Nickybear's Momma and to keep the light on for families in need.
